On July 17th (Wednesday) from 3:30 PM, we will be holding a workshop on the Japanese traditional instrument, the koto, at LAZULI Hiroshima Hotel & Lounge.

Did you know that Hiroshima (Fukuyama City in Hiroshima) is the top producer of kotos in Japan? While many have heard its sound during New Year’s celebrations, few have had the chance to actually play it.

This workshop is designed to be beginner-friendly. Starting with the history of the koto, we will cover playing posture, etiquette, how to read sheet music, and some practice exercises. At the end of the workshop, you will perform “Sakura Sakura” in a duet with the instructor.

This workshop will be conducted in English by a foreign instructor.
